Louis Vuitton Runs Media Campaign for New Bags While Stores Are Looted
Tone deafness is taken to a new level, even for a brand with a shadowy track record on racism.
As its stores are looted Louis Vuitton occupies itself by telling its tone deaf army of influencers to promote their new ‘Pont 9 bag’ which retails for $3,900 and is named after the Pont Neuf bridge, located across from Louis Vuitton’s Maison in Paris.
It was only on May 30th, five days after George Floyd’s murder that Louis Vuitton made their profit-saving ‘#BlackLivesMatter’ post. The caption reads: “Make a change. Freedom from racism towards peace together. #BlackLivesMatter” - posted alongside a Louis Vuitton model frolicking around on a horse.
A woman, identified as Melissa, was run over by a mounted police officer in Houston, Texas on May 31st during a peaceful protest. See below.
